American Manganese (AMY:TSXV) was up 25% Friday on 1.53 million shares traded to capture the Daily Stock Challenge Breakout award.
American Manganese stock up massive since early August
American Manganese is similar to many TSX Venture stocks in that no one wanted it, or knew it existed this time last year. However, with American Manganese you don’t have to look back more than a month.
On August 3rd, American Manganese traded between $0.03 and $0.035 per share. The next day 8.7 million shares traded hands to a high of $0.10 per share. Within 7 trading days more than 30 million shares exchanged hands and its shares traded to a high of $0.26 per share.

American Manganese’s market came alive on August 4th, after the company announced it had received the first progress report from Kemetco Research on Recycling Lithium – Cobalt Cathode Materials essential to the production of Lithium Ion Batteries.
The company reported that,
“Ten reductive leach tests were conducted with a range of conditions using AMI’s proprietary process. Extractions of 100% for both lithium and cobalt were achieved from cathode powders used for lithium ion batteries.”The company’s CEO, Mr. Reaugh, commented, “What is becoming clear is that the Company’s patented hydrometallurgical extraction process is well suited to recycle and produce any or all of the high value-added cathode materials – including Lithium, Cobalt, Nickel, and Manganese.”
