Stock Challengers, join us in welcoming the last Stock Challenge Champion of 2019: member ‘Robert Kellermann’! Robert Kellermann finished this month with a legendary return of 233.81%, rocketing him to #1 in the all-time Stock Challenge Leaderboards! Well done, Mr. Kellermann — we couldn’t think of a more deserving winner for this month’s one ounce gold maple leaf coin.
As for our remaining Top 3 winners, member ‘William Brown’ finished in second with a stunning return of 159.61% while last month’s second place winner, ‘micronta’, finished not far behind in third with a return of 124.59%.
Last but not least is our bonus fourth place winner — member ‘AntiGravity’ — who ended the month with a commendable return of 63.03%.
Winners, you all performed phenomenally! The fact that December 2019’s Top 3 Stock Challengers all had triple-digit returns certainly makes this month one for the books. Now, onto Champion’s Corner!
Champion’s Corner
Much like last month’s winner, Robert Kellermann picked two pharmaceutical companies to secure first place. His first pick, Oncolytics Biotech, skyrocketed approximately 264% from C$1.69 to C$6.15 for the month. His other pick, Aurinia Pharmaceuticals, jumped roughly 159% from C$10.14 to C$26.29.
On December 12, 2019, Aurinia Pharmaceuticals announced the closing of a US$191.7 million public offering of common shares.
“Aurinia Pharmaceuticals Inc. . . . today announced the closing of its previously announced underwritten public offering of 12,782,439 common shares, including 1,667,274 common shares pursuant to the full exercise of the underwriters’ option to purchase additional common shares (the “Offering”). The shares were sold at a public offering price of US$15.00 per share. The gross offering proceeds to the Company from this Offering are approximately US$191.7 million, before deducting underwriting discounts and commissions and other estimated offering expenses.”
